Jackson Hole, Wyoming Information
Located in nortwestern
Wyoming, Jackson Hole is a beautiful alpine valley ringed by the Teton
Mountain Range in the west and the Gros Ventre Mountains in the east. The
elevation of the valley is 7209, and it is approximately 60 miles long and
20 miles wide. Jackson, the only incorporated town, is the county seat for
Teton County. Other towns with their own post offices are Alta, Kelly,
Moose, Moran, Teton Village, and Wilson. Located on the edge of Grand Teton
National Park, Teton County is a gateway to both Grand Teton and Yellowstone
National Parks. Jackson Hole offers incredible outdoor activities year
round!

St. John's Hospital & Living Center provides a continuum of health care
services
to the residents of and visitors to Jackson Hole, Teton County and
surrounding
communities. Comprehensive care includes 24-hour emergency services, adult
and pediatric inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and treatment services,
home care, hospice, in-home private nursing care, wellness programs,
long-term

obstetricians, gynecologists, family physicians, an ophthalmologist,

Safety
Jackson Police Department - employs 30 active officers.
Teton County Sheriff Department - employs 48 sworn deputies.
Fire - Insurance classification #3 in the Town of Jackson, #4 within five
miles
of Jackson and Wilson departments, and #9b-10 in the rest of Teton County.
The Volunteer Fire Department has 29 fire fighting trucks and water support
equipment.
Transportation
Air Service to the Jackson Hole Airport

United Express/Wisconsin Air: Denver International
Car rentals and taxi service are available at several locations around town,
including the airport. Public and private bus service is provided between
the airport, Jackson and Teton Village. Private service between
Grand Targhee, Teton Village and Jackson is provided during the winter.
Daily private service is available to and from Idaho Falls and Salt Lake
City.
The START (Southern Teton Area Rapid Transit) bus system is public
transportation partially funded by the Town of Jackson, Teton County,
State of Wyoming, and the Federal Transportation Administration.
It is operated by the Town of Jackson.
